Cafe

The café on the balcony is open all weekends and on bank holidays from 10-15.
It is run by staff from The Food Stall.

The café's additional opening hours in 2024 are:
Winter holidays: 10th – 18th February from 10-15
Easter holidays: 23rd March- 1 st April from 10-15
Summer holidays: 1st July – 18th August from 10-15.30
Autumn holidays: 10th – 20th October from 10-15

There is no access to the cafe without purchasing a ticket for the Museum.

When the cafe is closed

The Museum is situated just across from Odense Railway Centre, where the Food Stall is also located. During the periods when the cafe is not open, you are welcome to purchase food at the Food Stall and bring it with you into the Museum. There are several seating areas at the Museum where you can eat your own food. You can purchase cold and hot drinks at the Museum’s ticket sales.

What are the accessibility arrangements at the Museum?

The Museum has good accessibility arrangements and is certified by the Danish accessibility scheme "God Adgang" (Good Access).

There is level-free access at the entrance, and a wheelchair user will find it easy to get around the vast majority of the indoor area of the Museum. There are lifts at both ends of the Museum, leading to the balcony with the cafe, exhibition, play area and the Children’s Railway Station. There are several disabled toilets, both at ground level and on the balcony. Several carriages and engines may be viewed from the platforms with access via stairs or wheelchair lift.

We occasionally offer vintage train rides to our visitors on the Museum’s own railway section, but it is unfortunately not possible to bring a wheelchair on board the vintage train.
