A Dream in a Bottle
Create your own glowing dream bottle and fill it with tracks, dreams, and journeys yet to come. What do you dream of experiencing if you could hop on a train and travel anywhere you like? In our creative workshop, children and adults can create their very own glowing dream bottle together – a small world in glass, filled with imagination and wanderlust. Draw railway tracks with glow-in-the-dark colours on clear plastic, let small coloured train beads travel through the light, and add words or drawings that show where you dream of going and who you would most like to travel with.
Køf needs repair
Winter has taken its toll on the shunting locomotive Køf, so locomotive engineer Busse must set to work repairing, washing, and fixing him up. Even though Køf is not the largest locomotive at the Danish Railway Museum, Busse will need plenty of helping hands and clever minds. Twice a day, from Saturday 7 February to Sunday 15 February, you can help Busse assemble Køf’s engine parts in the correct way and scrub the little shunting locomotive’s sides green again. After a long, muddy winter, Køf will then be ready to speed back out onto the museum’s shunting tracks.
The Mystery of the Missing Northern Lights
An escape room train during the winter holiday at the Danish Railway Museum. Join explorer Elvira Hinnerfeldt at the Danish Railway Museum during the winter holiday! She has just arrived at Odense Station – but has hidden a glimpse of the Northern Lights in a specially made crystal bottle somewhere secret on the train. Elvira has a treasure map, but she has forgotten how it works. Can you explore the carriages on both sides of the tracks and find the hidden arrows that will make the treasure map reveal its meaning?
Fun at the Children's Railway Station
Dress up as real train drivers with a coat and cap, sell tickets and take a magical journey into the world. Our Children's Railway Station is an indoor playground specially designed for the smallest adventurers. You'll find it on our balcony next to the café, allowing you to enjoy the sight of play while relaxing with a good cup of coffee.
Take a ride on the mini train
The mini train is very popular with both children and adults. The mini train runs outdoors and a ride lasts about 5 minutes. You are welcome to try several times.
Food and drink
The Food Stall is available in the museum café every day during the winter holidays from 10-15 with light snacks and sandwiches. You are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks. There are tables on the balcony by tracks 16-19.
